We started House of Estara because we kept running into the same problem. Beautiful moissanite jewelry online, at every price point, from every kind of seller, in every shape and setting. But almost no transparency about what was inside. Cheap stones marketed at premium prices. Plated metal sold as fine jewelry. Generic certification papers that traveled with thousands of pieces from dozens of brands.
We built House of Estara to do the opposite of that. Every piece, documented. Every stone, graded. Every metal, verified. The certificate that arrives in your box isn't marketing. It's a record of what we put into the piece you bought.
How We Grade Our Stones
Moissanite doesn't have a single global grading authority the way diamonds have GIA or IGI. So we adopted the same gemological framework those labs use, the 4Cs of color, clarity, cut, and carat weight, and apply it to every stone we set.
Here's exactly what that means for your piece.
Color: D Grade
Every Estara stone is graded D on the standard gemological color scale. Completely colorless, the highest grade available. There's no warm tint, no yellowish cast, nothing that gives it away as a lower grade under daylight. Most moissanite sold online is graded G to I and quietly described as "near-colorless." We don't sell those.
Clarity: VVS
Very, very slightly included. Inclusions are barely visible to a trained gemologist under 10x magnification, and completely invisible to your eye. Lower-clarity stones (VS, SI) sell for less because the imperfections show. We don't compromise here either.
Cut
Cut is what makes a stone sparkle, regardless of color or clarity. Our stones are precision-cut to maximize light return. Round brilliants get 57 facets, fancy shapes get the cut count appropriate to their geometry. Each one is hand-finished and polished before it leaves the bench.
Carat Weight
Each stone's exact carat weight is measured and recorded on your certificate. Printed carat is the delivered carat, never less. The total carat weight on multi-stone pieces is the sum of every stone, including accent stones in halos and pavé settings.
How We Verify Our Metals
A stone is only as good as the metal it's set in. We use solid 10K, 14K, or 18K gold, sterling silver 925, or platinum 950. Never plated. Every piece is stamped with its purity hallmark per international convention.
Here's what we never do:
- ✓ Plate base metal in gold and call it "gold jewelry"
- ✓ Use rhodium plating to mask lower-grade gold
- ✓ Sell "gold-filled" or "vermeil" pieces under our brand
- ✓ Substitute alloys without disclosure
Every metal claim on your certificate is verifiable by any qualified jeweler with a basic acid test or XRF analyzer. If you ever want to confirm what's in your piece, walk into any reputable jewelry shop with the certificate, and they'll tell you exactly the same thing.
Know Your Estara Certificate
Your certificate isn't a generic seal. It's the specific record of your piece. The front carries the fixed House of Estara plate. The back carries the data unique to your piece. Here's what each part tells you, and why it matters.
House of Estara Wordmark
The Estara wordmark sits at the top of the front, above the Certificate of Authenticity title. The front of every card is identical by design — if the front of your card differs from the one shown above, it isn't ours.
Certificate Number
On the back: a unique identifier tied to your specific piece, in the format HE-YYYY-XXXXX (e.g., HE-2026-00142). We keep a record of every certificate issued, so this number lets us pull up your piece's full history if you ever need verification, replacement, or appraisal support.
Date of Issue
The month and year your piece was crafted and quality-checked, printed on the back. Useful for warranty claims and for personal record-keeping. Pieces are shipped within days of this date.
Piece Code
Your piece's specific design code (e.g., LR14251), printed on the back. Reference this when you contact us about your piece. It helps us pull up the exact design and your order history.
Stone Specifications
On the back: the documented color grade (D colorless), clarity grade (VVS), cut, carat weight, and size where applicable. This is the gemological record of what's in your jewelry, and the printed carat is the delivered carat, never less.
Metal Composition
The exact metal and purity of your piece, e.g., 14K White Gold, Platinum 950, Sterling Silver 925. This matches the hallmark stamped into the metal of the piece itself.
Lifetime Warranty Statement
Printed on the front of every certificate: your piece is backed by our limited lifetime warranty. The full terms live at houseofestara.com, but the certificate is your reference that the warranty applies to this specific piece.
Keep your certificate with your piece. If you ever want to sell, gift, insure, or have your jewelry appraised, the certificate is the document an appraiser will reference. We also keep a record on our end. If you ever lose your certificate, email care@houseofestara.com with your order number and we'll send you a replacement.
Why We Don't Use Third-Party Lab Reports
A note on something we're often asked: why don't we send our stones out to a third-party lab and include a paper report?
Honestly? Because most third-party moissanite reports don't add real value. The major gemological labs, GIA and IGI, primarily issue diamond reports. The labs that do mass-issue moissanite reports are widely known in the trade as marketing paper rather than rigorous certification. We could include those reports and charge you more for them. We chose not to.
Instead, we built our own standard, applied the gemological grading methodology that the major labs use, and stand behind every piece with our limited lifetime warranty. If you ever want a third-party verification of your stone, any qualified gemologist can grade it using the same scales we use, and they'll arrive at the same grades documented on your certificate. That's the test of a real standard.
Backed for Life
Every claim on your certificate is backed by our limited lifetime warranty. If we made a manufacturing mistake, a setting that fails, a stone that loosens, a metal that doesn't match what's stamped on it, we repair or replace the piece, free of cost, for as long as you own it.
